Little Maycen

Meet Maycen!

It may have taken her mommy and I 5 different attempts to get these pictures taken (thanks to the weather) but we finally did it! Get ready for a whole lot of beauty...

And I couldn't help but do something for fun. Does she not look like the Gerber baby?!? Just beautiful!!!

Baby Julian!

Meet baby Julian!
He is yet another bundle of joy I have been photographing since he was in the womb...

And here he is today! Just as sweet as can be! Julian is such a determined yet laid back baby. Although he gave me the "What are you doing to me woman?" look I always get when posing babies, he let us put him in all sorts of different boxes and hats. I swear this baby posed as soon as I put him in the basket...

Then came nap time...
Just don't take away his paci... or Scout.

Enjoy!!!

Lauren & Jarred are Married!

This is Jed... back in 2005, when I first met him.
This was back in the days of "The Crew", a group of 6 friends that had one of "those summers".

And this is Jed now. A United States Marine.

(very Top Gun looking isn't he?)

Jed (or Jarred as some now call him) recently married his gorgeous bride Lauren. Back in high school we used to talk about the kind of person we thought each one of us would marry. I don't think we could have ever imagined anybody as perfect for him as Lauren. She is such a sweet, kind-hearted, southern belle. They had a small, intimate, beautiful wedding and I was honored to be the one they chose to photograph it. I wont lie, there were some misty eyes behind the camera that day.

Baby Carson!

I had the pleasure of shooting the sweet Mandy Quartermaine a few months ago during her pregnancy with her sister-in-law Shannon. Both were due just days away from each other (how exciting!)

And now... Baby Carson is here!!!

We got so many cute pictures! Being the sports fans they are, Mandy and Johnathan brought along a few props for the shoot. As a result, we ended up getting some of my favorite pictures yet!

BABY BEN!!!

Welcome to the world Baby Ben!

Our friends Laura + Matt recently had their first baby and we couldn't be any happier for them! We met Matt + Laura while Matt and my husband Clint were going through school in Arizona. I was fortunate enough to be there the moment Laura found out she was pregnant, so baby Ben is definitely a special little baby in my heart.

Recently our husbands unit deployed to Afghanistan. Before Matt left, we were able to squeeze in a newborn session to capture their time together.

Ben is such a laid back baby and let me do just about anything I wanted. He is so cute and cuddly too! I cant wait to watch him grow up!

My "Poor Mans Canvases"

Ive had a few people ask me how I made my self titled "Poor Mans Canvas", so I figured I'd do a tutorial.

Since I wasn't planning on doing this when I made them, I didnt take pictures along the way, so I hope my directions will be easy enough.

I went to Home Depot and had them but a piece of finished wood in to 8 12x12 pieces. (I put 2 aside for other projects)

Then I went to Sams and had them print my pictures in the 12x12 size. Each print cost less than $3 (as opposed to Kinkos who wanted $67-ish for 6 prints)

Next I took a can of black spray paint and spray painted the edges of all the wood pieces.

Once they were dry, I Mod-Podged the back of the picture AND the wood and stuck the picture to the wood.

After all the pictures dried to the wood, I did a layer of Mod- Podge over the picture. This gave it the streaky canvas look and sealed the picture to the wood as well.

After that I just bought picture hooks, stuck it to them to the back.

And your done!!! Trust me, if I can do it, so can you!!!

Here is the finished project...

I plan on doing a wall in my kitchen sort of the same way with family photos.

Please comment and let me know what you think!
